This instrument is suitable for determining the kinematic viscosity and dynamic viscosity of liquid petroleum products (referring to Newtonian liquids). This method involves measuring the time it takes for a certain volume of liquid to flow through a calibrated glass capillary viscometer under gravity at a constant temperature. The product of the capillary constant of the viscometer and the flow time is the kinematic viscosity of the measured liquid at that temperature.
It is applicable to standards such as “GB265-88 Determination of Kinematic Viscosity of Petroleum Products” and ASTM D445. It adopts a precision digital temperature controller to control temperature, with digital temperature display, high temperature control accuracy, digital stopwatch for timing, and uniform temperature in the thermostatic bath. It can accommodate four viscometers for experiments simultaneously and can also be used as a high-viscosity thermostatic water bath for other experiments.
Main Features:
