This instrument complies with the GB/T6538 standard for the determination of apparent viscosity of engine oils (cold start simulator method) and the ASTM D5293 test method; it is suitable for measuring the apparent viscosity of engine oils with a viscosity ranging from 1500 to 27000 mPa•s (the viscosity range of national standard automatic instruments is 2800 to 18000 mPa•s) under the conditions of a temperature range of -5 to -35℃, a shear stress of approximately 50000 to 100000 Pa, and a shear rate of 10⁵ to 10⁴ S⁻¹. The instrument consists of a bath temperature automatic control system, a stator measurement unit, a refrigeration system, a motor speed measurement system, and a host computer system, etc. The instrument realizes automation of operation, control, calculation, and display through multi-threaded operation control of the whole machine.
